India – a land where humanity has attained its highest towards generosity, towards purity and towards calmness. Independence Day was celebrated in St. Angel’s School on Aug, 2017 wherein students from all departments participated with full energy and vigour to celebrate 70 years of freedom, liberty, peace and success of their nation. The celebration began with unfurling our national flag which stands firmly to demarcate the cause of unity and fight against corruption followed by our National Anthem which evokes and eulogizes the history, traditions and struggle of its people, recognized either by nation’s government or by its citizens. It was followed by March past that depicted moving to perfection and not fearing any thorns or sharp stones that come our way. It was then followed by lighting of the lamp and the pledge taking event. The welcome ceremony began with the Ganesh Vandana and further proceeded by the Shiv Vandana by senior students, after which a Group song was sung by the choir group to instill a feeling of patriotism in student’s mind. A speech on the journey of independent India from 1947 – 2017 was presented by Yash Deshwal, of class XII.

Then patriotic Group dance by Graceful Angelians to instigate patriotic feelings in everyone’s hearts. Last but not the least, a qawwali and a folk dance Garba were presented and the event culminated with a speech by our Honourable Guest.
